SEGA-licensed blockchain game "Three Kingdoms: The Battle" releases teaser trailer! 3-minute card-based strategy battles, launching by the end of this year.

Blockchain game "Three Kingdoms War," developed by Web3 game developer double Jump.tokyo under the authorization of gaming giant SEGA, has finally made new progress. The first teaser video not only revealed the game's visuals but also officially announced that the game will be launched by the end of this year.

SEGA's Popular Game "Sangokushi Taisen" to Develop Blockchain Version

double Jump.tokyo announced in September last year that they have obtained authorization from SEGA to develop a blockchain game based on SEGA's well-known IP "Sangokushi Taisen." This game will be SEGA's first IP related to blockchain gaming and will run on the well-known Japanese blockchain Oasys.

Oasys is a blockchain specifically designed for gaming, with double Jump.tokyo being one of its developers, boasting fast transaction speeds and no gas fees. Other well-known gaming companies such as Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, and Com2uS are also its partners.

"Sangokushi Taisen" Game Screen Revealed, a Short Card Strategy Game

After several months of development, the Sangokushi Taisen developed by double Jump.tokyo has finally brought further news. Not only did they launch a Twitter account at the end of June, but they also went live with the game's official website and released a teaser video.

From the teaser, it is evident that this game is a 3-minute PvP strategy card game where players can build their decks and engage in battles. Additionally, according to the official website, the game is set to be released by the end of 2023, playable on PC, initially available in English and Japanese, with plans to add Chinese and Korean in 2024.

The entrance of SEGA's first IP into the world of blockchain gaming is indeed highly anticipated, but it has not been revealed yet how blockchain technology will be integrated into the game mechanics. However, being a card game, it may incorporate NFT technology in the card issuance process and settle various card transactions through blockchain. The specifics are yet to be disclosed.
