The StepN team releases the beta version of their new game "Gas Hero".

The team behind the previously well-known blockchain game StepN, Find Satoshi Lab, is making a comeback and planning a new game Gas Hero scheduled to launch in September, targeting the Web3 market with a social gaming focus. The game recently released a private testing version, allowing users on the invitation list to experience it first-hand.

Introduction to Gas Hero Project

After creating the popular blockchain game StepN with 3 million monthly active users, the Find Satoshi Lab team did not disband but continued to explore new endeavors. The team had launched projects in other areas such as Dooar and MOOAR, but failed to leverage past experiences to gain recognition.

It wasn't until September of this year when the Find Satoshi Lab team announced the development of a new game called Gas Hero that they managed to grab some attention in the market. This game will be built on Polygon and will use the token GMT from StepN as the in-game currency.

Introduction to Gas Hero Gameplay

Set in 2082, Gas Hero unfolds in a world where a technological revolution has taken place. The awakening of AI aims to conquer the world, pushing humanity towards destruction, with screams echoing in the polluted air... Players embark on a journey in the game to reclaim the world under this backdrop.

Each player must have six heroes to play the game, engaging in battles through PVE and PVP modes to earn rewards.

Currently, there are 48 types of heroes and three professions available. Each hero can be paired with a pet and a weapon, with different weapons and pets having varying rarities and abilities, resulting in different numerical combinations.

In addition to individual battles, players can participate in tribe wars and guild battles held during different seasons, indicating the official desire for players to team up; otherwise, they would waste 2/3 of the season time.

Tribe battles test the players' ability to complement and cooperate with each other. The battle mechanism of tribe and guild championships requires players to take turns battling in a specific order, with a maximum time limit for each player's appearance. Strategically assembling combinations to counter various enemies is the key to victory, testing players' strategic planning.

Release of Gas Hero Test Version

The team quickly developed the first test version and opened it today for users within the whitelist to play the alpha version, while general players will have to wait.

This test will run from 11/27 to 12/11, and participating players will receive heroes, equipment, pet fragments, and a base.

Abandoning Move to Earn?

From a game design perspective, Gas Hero is more similar to Axie Infinity than StepN. Gas Hero's gameplay mechanics do not incorporate elements like sports or GPS integration with the real world. Perhaps Find Satoshi Lab, after the experience with StepN, believes that integrating with the physical world is not a good idea at this stage.

However, because of this, it is challenging to see the distinctive features of previous games in Gas Hero; it is almost an entirely new game. Whether it can successfully enter the market leveraging its brand remains to be seen.
