Base Official Promotion Fren Pet Gains Popularity
The Base official team publicly promoted a new community game called Fren Pet on Twitter on the 17th. This application, built on the Base network, named Fren Pet, is a Web3 application based on the concept of "digital chickens" and incorporates elements of Ponzi economics, gaming, and PVP.
After receiving official promotion from Base, the market value of the native token Fren Pet has grown from $400,000 to approximately $6.4 million, although the overall token market value is still relatively small.
The number of NFTs minted for Fren Pet has also seen a significant increase, with 3,921 NFTs minted in a single day yesterday. However, the official has currently suspended the NFT minting function, and users who want to participate need to wait for further notice from the official.
Fren Pet Gameplay Introduction
Fren Pet Pet NFT
Players must spend 100 Fren Pet tokens to mint a pet NFT when playing for the first time. However, if new players mint NFTs later, the minted Fren Pet tokens will be refunded, making minting NFTs free as long as the player is not the last one.
The NFT pet will have a death countdown timer in the top left corner called TOD. Players must spend Fren Pet tokens to buy food for the pet. If the pet is not fed, it will die, and the NFT will be destroyed.
Fren Pet Game Points
Players' goal is to increase points within the game, and rewards will be distributed based on the proportion of points exchanged by players on that day. Points can be increased through the following ways:
- Feeding and Recharging: Spending Fren Pet tokens to buy food can extend the pet's life, level up, and increase points simultaneously.
- Spin Wheel Lottery: One free spin daily can earn game points.
- Attack other players' pets in gaming: Winners receive 0.5% of the loser's game points, while losers lose 0.5% of game points. Higher-level players have a 60% chance of winning.
Game points directly affect the daily ETH rewards that can be shared. Rewards come from the Fren Pet token liquidity pool, but it should be noted that once a user chooses to withdraw rewards, the pet's level and game points will be reset to zero.
In addition, players can also purchase equipment that plays a role in the game, such as buying a "shield" to block other players' attacks or buying "insurance" to prevent pet death, and so on.
Fren Pet Token
The Fren Pet token does not have additional production, only burning. There are approximately 8 million tokens in total, built on the Base network.
A 5% tax is required for each token transaction, with 2% going to developers, 1% burned, and 2% distributed among players based on game points. In addition, in-game expenses such as buying food and equipment using Fren Pet tokens will have 90% burned, while the remaining 10% will go to the referrer.
Continued Caution Observations
Overall, the more speculative players in the market, the higher the rewards for Fren Pet players, which will attract more players to join.
However, considering that under this cycle, the price of Fren Pet tokens will rise, and the subsequent cost of playing will also increase, sustainability still needs to be verified.
On the other hand, if the speed at which players exit and sell tokens is faster than the burning speed of the tokens, the token price will still decline, potentially affecting market sentiment in the same manner.
