Strike Commits to Promoting Bitcoin Adoption
In a recent article on Medium, Jack Mallers, CEO of the Bitcoin application company Strike, announced the launch of the feature allowing users to purchase Bitcoin with a debit card as part of its global expansion efforts.
Additionally, the company has upgraded its services for international money transfers, balance cashouts, and daily spending using the US dollar, $USDT, and Bitcoin.
Jack Mallers stated:
We are rolling out a feature that Bitcoin enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating for years. Now, global Strike users can easily buy Bitcoin through our platform.
He added, "This is not just an update, but a significant milestone in our journey towards global financial liberation."
Previously, in response to increasing regulatory uncertainties in the United States, the company moved its headquarters from Chicago to El Salvador in May of this year.
Buy Coins with Bank Cards at Your Fingertips
The article first pointed out that Strike Global users can now easily purchase Bitcoin using bank cards. This service, currently available in 36 countries, will gradually expand to over 65 countries and develop more purchasing channels including bank deposits.
Unlike in the United States, users in that country can buy Bitcoin without any fees; however, Strike will charge a 3.9% fee for transactions by non-US users.
Jack Mallers stated that they will focus on reducing this cost, noting that it is already lower than most of their competitors, specifically mentioning that MoonPay charges 4.5%.
Expanded Global Remittance Services
The second update is the expansion of the Send Globally feature launched a year ago, from being applicable only in the United States to 12 countries worldwide, including the Philippines, Mexico, Vietnam, and Kenya.
This feature offers exchange services between the US dollar, $USDT, and Bitcoin, providing users with a fast, instant, and low-cost experience for cross-border remittances and cash withdrawals through the Lightning Network.
Lightning Network for Shopping
Lastly, the company has partnered with the crypto payment company Bitrefill, allowing Strike users to purchase daily essentials using fiat currency, $USDT, or Bitcoin through the Lightning Network.
Notably, the "Shop with Lightning" feature enables users to click and browse their favorite stores directly within the Strike app for online shopping, including subscribing to streaming services, making the service more integrated into daily life.
