Bitcoin ATM company Coin Cloud hacked: 70,000 selfies and 300,000 user data leaked
According to The Block, an unconfirmed hacking group claims to have stolen 70,000 selfies of customers and sensitive personal information of 300,000 customers from the Bitcoin ATM company Coin Cloud. Before filing for bankruptcy in February of this year, the company operated over 4,000 ATMs in the United States and Brazil. The hacking group also claims to have stolen the original code of Coin Cloud's backend system, as reported by cybersecurity expert vx-underground.

According to The Block, an unverified hacker group claims to have stolen 70,000 selfies of customers and sensitive personal information of 300,000 customers from the Bitcoin ATM company Coin Cloud. Before filing for bankruptcy in February of this year, the company operated over 4,000 ATMs in the United States and Brazil. According to cybersecurity expert vx-underground, the hacker group also claims to have stolen the original code of Coin Cloud's backend system.
In a post by cybersecurity expert vx-underground, blurred images were shown, allegedly containing customers' social security numbers, names, addresses, dates of birth, occupations, phone numbers, and more, all allegedly in the possession of the hackers.
Coin Cloud has filed for bankruptcy in February due to operational difficulties and legal issues, with debts ranging between 100 million to 500 million USD.
Bitcoin ATM operator Coin Cloud files for bankruptcy, with Genesis being the largest creditor.
