Suspected Official Hack? Well-known game L3E7 faces cybersecurity concerns, downloading the game leads to adult websites.

A GameFi project called L3E7 with 120,000 followers on Twitter was reported today on 9/23 to have its website compromised, where the game download links on the official website automatically downloaded a trojan horse program and redirected to a pornographic website. The whistleblower stated that this vulnerability led to his wallet being emptied, resulting in a loss of over $10,000 in assets.

A $10 Million Funding for RPG Blockchain Game Claimed to be the First LBS Game

L3E7 claims to be the first RPG game based on Location-Based Service (LBS), rendering the Earth on Web 3 through mapping technology. Additionally, by holding NFTs, players can share game profits, making NFTs not only game tickets but also equity certificates. On April 26th this year, L3E7 announced a $10 million funding led by SevenX Ventures and others.

Same Issue Even After Changing Computers, Directly Pointing to Official Cybersecurity Problems

Whistleblower Esonsu.eth stated on Twitter that after downloading the game, their wallet was emptied, resulting in a loss of over $10,000, and tagged the official account requesting an explanation.

Subsequently, they posted an article describing the incident, stating that when they downloaded the game in the morning, they clicked on the official website and entered the Gofile cloud download page from the download option at the bottom left. Everything seemed normal until they tried to execute the download, which automatically downloaded software unrelated to the official game, as shown in the video. After the download, all wallets were emptied, with many unidentified files hidden on the Gofile page.

They mentioned that the issue of redirecting to adult websites and automatic downloads has been reported to the official Discord but has not been resolved. They also expressed that it doesn't seem to be a phishing link issue because the same result occurred even after changing computers five times.

Esonsu.eth later suggested that someone might have provided a phishing link through the download site, and the official has since taken down that download source.

Ironically, if the official website was hacked, there should be multiple victims, but no other incidents have been discovered so far.

As of the deadline, there has been no official response yet. However, the Marketing Director of L3E7, @Jer_NFTworld, responded: "The official website and game have been downloaded by thousands of people, and no one else has reported this issue. Could there be a mistake elsewhere?" Remember to prioritize cybersecurity and avoid clicking on unknown URLs. You can install cybersecurity software like ScamSniffer to identify security risks.
