Chief Prosecutor: Thankful for Binance's Assistance
Chief Prosecutor Zhang Douhui expressed gratitude for "Binance's long-term support and assistance to Taiwanese law enforcement agencies, especially through a series of educational training programs to help prosecutors from the Taiwan High Prosecutors to local prosecutors better understand virtual assets and how to deal with the challenges brought by this emerging technology. We look forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the industry, to establish a closer joint defense mechanism to achieve the goal of protecting people's safety and combating crime."
Binance CEO Richard Teng stated, "We are pleased to have representative cooperation with Taiwanese law enforcement agencies with the support of the Taiwan High Prosecutors. When I took on the role of CEO, I made three commitments, one of which is to continue promoting cooperation with global regulatory agencies. Our cooperation with Taiwanese law enforcement agencies is a concrete action to fulfill this commitment and also represents Binance's firm determination to promote compliance."
Binance's Asia-Pacific team member Damien Ho stated, "At Binance, we recognize the critical role that collaboration between the public and private sectors plays in preventing and combating illicit activities in Web3. Therefore, in addition to actively conducting virtual asset training courses with law enforcement agencies, we also respond actively to law enforcement requests and share intelligence. In the future, we look forward to further deepening our cooperation with Taiwanese law enforcement agencies, setting a new paradigm of public-private collaboration for the industry."
As part of Binance's global law enforcement training program, since announcing the launch of a touring training program in Taiwan last year, the Binance team has conducted virtual asset training courses with over 10 different units in Taiwan, including the Taiwan High Prosecutors, various local prosecutors' offices, and criminal investigation bureaus, with over a thousand law enforcement personnel participating. Positive feedback has been received from participants during this period. Despite virtual assets accounting for only a small percentage of global financial crime, Binance will continue its efforts to safeguard user assets and build a more secure and trustworthy virtual asset ecosystem.
