Trump Criticizes Harris' Policies, Musk Promises to Cut $2 Trillion in Spending

During a rally, Trump launched a harsh criticism against Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, focusing on border, crime, and economic issues, urging supporters to defeat Harris and the radical left together.

Trump also claimed that if elected, he would have Elon Musk lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut government spending. Musk quickly voiced his support for Trump, promising to help reduce government expenses, claiming to be able to cut up to $2 trillion in spending and not waste taxpayers' money. According to data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the U.S. government spent $6.75 trillion in 2024. Musk's pledge to cut $2 trillion would account for nearly one-third of the current U.S. expenditure.

Citing federal documents, Bloomberg reported that Musk donated up to $132 million in political contributions in 2024 to support Trump and other Republican candidates, becoming one of the most active political donors in this election, rising to the top tier of political contributors.
