Bitcoin is the future! NBA star JaVale McGee tweeted: "Raise your hand if you got in before $18,000."
Bitcoin has gained more consensus this year, including from traditional financial institutions, hedge fund giants, legendary investors, and many well-known figures. NBA player Javale McGee recently expressed his optimism about Bitcoin on Twitter.
In the early stages of his career, Javale McGee was often known for his unconventional performances on the court, earning him the nickname "Pierre." However, as McGee transitioned into a key role player later on, he gradually proved his worth by helping the Warriors and last year's Lakers win championships.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA set up a quarantine bubble for resuming games. In addition to his basketball commitments, McGee also launched a series called "Life in the Bubble" on his personal YouTube channel to document life inside the bubble.

In addition to pursuing a side hustle as a YouTuber, McGee also revealed his investment in Bitcoin on Twitter.

Entering at 18,000?
On December 17th, McGee asked his 350,000 followers on Twitter:
Who bought Bitcoin before it hit 18?
Raise of hands who got in before 18 on bitcoin? ✋🏽😬

It's unclear whether McGee was referring to buying Bitcoin before reaching 18 years old or buying in at $18,000, but it's likely the latter.
Some fans who are also cryptocurrency investors eagerly responded, claiming they bought in much lower than McGee's entry point.
However, some responses revealed common misconceptions about Bitcoin. User @bmish1 on Twitter mentioned being too poor to afford Bitcoin, to which McGee pointed out:
You don't need to be wealthy to invest in Bitcoin. Investing $20 now is already worth $25 to $30.
U dont need to be rich… you could put 20 dollars in it would be worth 25-30 now…

As reported, Blockstream CEO Adam Back previously noted that beginners often think "Bitcoin is too expensive for me to buy" and find the smallest Bitcoin unit, "Satoshi" at 0.00000001 BTC, difficult to use and confusing, proposing a change to "Bits" at 0.000001 BTC as the smallest unit.
Passion for Blockchain Investment
It's not surprising that McGee holds Bitcoin. On August 7th this year, in the $12 million funding round for Ethereum-based virtual pet game "CryptoKitties" developer Dapper Labs, several NBA stars led the investment, including McGee.
When a fan expressed complete confusion about what Bitcoin is, McGee responded:
Bitcoin is the future, do some research.
The future… go do some research

Endorsement from influential figures has always been the best advertisement for Bitcoin. Previously, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, with over 5 million followers, also endorsed Bitcoin as a wise investment and teamed up with payment startup Cash App to launch a $1 million Bitcoin giveaway on Twitter.
