The founder of Binance, Zhao Changpeng, tweeted recently to address some misconceptions:
1. Regarding the statement "CZ wants to be the savior of cryptocurrency," Zhao Changpeng stated, "Cryptocurrency does not need saving and is developing well. This is the beauty of decentralization. We are just a part of it. We hope to help other good projects that may be in cash crunch due to recent events. This is in our collective best interest."
2. Regarding the viewpoint that "FTX was killed by a third party," Zhao Changpeng said, "No, FTX killed themselves (and their users) by stealing billions of dollars of user funds."
3. Regarding the viewpoint that "SBF had good intentions but made some mistakes," Zhao Changpeng said, "Lies are never made with good intentions."
4. Regarding the viewpoint that "CZ's tweet destroyed FTX," Zhao Changpeng said, "One tweet cannot destroy any healthy business. However, data shows that the former CEO of Alameda Research, Caroline Ellison, willing to buy FTT from Binance at $22, may be the real reason people abandoned FTT. SBF continues a narrative that portrays me and others as 'bad guys.' SBF is one of the biggest scammers in history and a master manipulator in the media and with key opinion leaders."
5. Regarding "SBF vs CZ: Epic Showdown," Zhao Changpeng said, "We don't focus on competitors because when this industry only touches 6% of the population, it's a waste of time and resources. We hope multiple exchanges, blockchains, wallets, etc., coexist in the ecosystem."
