Bored Ape Yacht Club founder mocks NFT "fake bids" chaos! Jokingly ends up losing 100 ETH unintentionally

In the speculative world of NFTs, it is quite common for sellers to hype up prices by trading among multiple wallets. However, a seasoned NFT collector named Franklin, who owned 57 Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, fell victim to a significant loss of 100 ETH due to a momentary lapse, ironically mocking this phenomenon.

Franklin's Painful Lesson

According to the description provided by Franklin and the transaction records on the blockchain, Franklin, in a satirical response to many malicious sellers in the current market, engaged in "fake bids" on his own products through other wallets he held to inflate prices and attract potential buyers to spend more money, registering ENS domains named "Stop Fake Bids, It's Not Cool Brother" and "Don't Bid 100 ETH on This," and used another wallet to place fake bids of 100 wETH on these two domains.

The address joebiden.eth was used to register domains, while the address franklinisbored.eth placed a fake bid of 100 wETH on OpenSea.

However, due to a moment of greed, Franklin accepted an offer of 1.9 wETH from a buyer named 7BEC4D on X2Y2 and sold the first domain mentioned above.

When selling, Franklin forgot to cancel the initial fake bid of 100 wETH. Consequently, 7BEC4D resold the purchased domain directly back to Franklin, resulting in a loss of about 100 wETH, approximately $150,000, for Franklin.

Subsequent Back-and-Forth

A moment of carelessness and greed led to such a significant loss, leaving Franklin deeply regretful. He decided to return the 1.9 wETH received from 7BEC4D, hoping to receive back 97.5 wETH after deducting the transaction fee. Additionally, Franklin documented the entire incident and turned it into an NFT, transferring it to 7BEC4D's wallet.

"Hello, I sold you an ENS domain for 1.9 wETH, but I forgot to cancel the 100 wETH fake bid I made through another wallet for fun, allowing you to sell and receive 97.5 wETH. I have tried to refund the original 1.9 wETH to you. I hope you can cancel all transactions, but I understand if you wish to keep your profits," Franklin said.

However, 7BEC4D seemed unwilling to return the money, opting to reject repayment after receiving 1.9 wETH.

Nevertheless, Franklin, upon receiving the 1.9 wETH repayment from 7BEC4D, persisted and attempted to return the 1.9 wETH once again. This back-and-forth exchange occurred three times, ultimately leaving Franklin unable to recover the lost assets.

In response to Franklin's statement, 7BEC4D wrote down his thoughts and turned it into an NFT, transferring it to Franklin's address, marking an unsatisfactory end to the situation.

"Hello, no thanks, but thank you for the money," 7BEC4D said.
