NBA Top Shot launches a $10 million ecosystem fund, allows player cards to be transferred to Blocto, and will introduce the FLOW token.
Flow blockchain NBA Top Shot released latest plans on the 19th, mentioning a $10 million fund for NBA Top Shot application development and the introduction of Flow tokens. Note: NBA Top Shot is limited to participation from North American IPs only.

NBA Top Shot Major Updates
- Moments are transitioning from unlimited to limited editions, with each common card not exceeding 30,000, previously exceeding 60,000 per type
- Rookie players who made it into the Rising Stars Challenge this year will only have a base set card in series 3
- Legendary cards in Series 3 will be limited to 99 per game, with the total being less than 10,000, making the rarity of legendary cards less than ~0.09%
- There will be packs marked with rarity, but eligibility to obtain them will be based on Collector Score or total spending in the marketplace; Series 3 will have more of these qualification-limited releases
- Higher value cards will earn higher Collector Scores
- Mixed rarity packs will have a chance to draw rare and legendary cards among three cards
- NBA Top Shot cards can now be transferred to external wallets like Blocto, but Collector Scores cannot be calculated, and must be transferred back before calculation

Dapper Labs has partnered with the Flow Foundation to invest at least $10 million in USD and FLOW within the next 3 months to support existing successful cases and developers creating fun applications for NBA Top Shot NFT collectors.
The Flow Foundation is set to announce a plan to invest hundreds of millions to fund development teams in the Flow ecosystem, particularly in gaming and social sectors.
