Many Web2 companies followed suit in buying land in The Sandbox in early 2021 and 2022, but media giant Forbes only recently announced that it has purchased a piece of virtual land in The Sandbox metaverse.

Forbes Buys Land to Set Up in Web3
Forbes has built a luxurious pool, bar, and spacious gallery to celebrate the 2024 Forbes 30 under 30 winners in its digital space.
It is stated that this move signifies Forbes' deepening involvement in the Web3 field and its firm belief in the potential of the metaverse.
Forbes' virtual space will serve as a dynamic community center aimed at fostering interaction, participation, and collaboration among the Forbes Web3 community.
Metaverse Land Rush Fizzles Out
Forbes has been actively monitoring the metaverse space, such as turning Forbes covers into NFTs and hosting digital asset and Web3 summits.
Forbes has also integrated QR codes in The Sandbox virtual environment to enhance user engagement and enrich user understanding of the digital landscape through interactive experiences.
However, the purchase of land, a move many Web2 companies had already executed in early 2021 and 2022, such as Singapore's DBS Group and HSBC.
