PAK launches free minting of NFT "Censored Messages," with nearly 20,000 holders.

AssangeDAO was established recently with the aim of assisting Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks who is imprisoned in the UK for releasing confidential documents. The project plans to auction an NFT artwork titled "Censored" in collaboration with the artist Pak and fund Assange's legal fees.

Table of Contents

Censored

Censored includes two interactive blockchain art pieces.

Clock

The image of Clock displays the number of days Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, has been imprisoned. The auction will end in one day, around 2/9 22:00, with the bidding price reaching 1,033 ETH.

The proceeds from the Clock auction will be donated to the Wau Holland Foundation, which has raised millions of dollars for Assange's legal defense.

Censored

Censored is an NFT that can be minted for free, generating customizable text that is immutable, limited to uppercase English letters A-Z, up to 72 characters, and only one can be minted per wallet.

The proceeds from Censored will be used for organizations focusing on freedom of speech, digital privacy, education, health, human rights, and animal protection. The image below shows PAK's work "PAK WAS HERE."

Although users can mint for free, they need to pay Gas fees. The NFTs will be locked in the wallet and cannot be transferred. According to PAK's statement, once Assange is acquitted and the Clock time reaches zero, all hyphens on the NFT text will be removed, and trading can then take place.

Previously reported, the fundraising amount for AssangeDAO has exceeded that of ConstitutionDAO's record. This uncapped fundraising project has already raised 15,035 ETH by the deadline, with tech company Gnosis founder and Ethereum founder Vitalik also pledging 10 ETH each.
