Prank: Impersonating Twitter Employees

Rumors have been circulating that after Elon Musk takes over Twitter, he will lay off 75% of the employees. Coincidentally, CNBC encountered two men outside Twitter headquarters on 10/28 holding cardboard boxes, claiming to be employees laid off by Twitter. However, after CNBC's report was released, it was immediately questioned by many on Twitter, who believed it was a deliberate prank by individuals pretending to be Twitter employees.

As the names and interview content of these two individuals seemed too absurd, The Verge, an external media outlet, later reported that this was a prank, and CNBC also updated their report.

The two men claimed their names were Rahul Ligma and Daniel Johnson. The pronunciation of Ligma sounds similar to "Lick my," often used in a joking context like:

  • A: I Ligma #$%^

  • B: Ligma what?

  • A: Lick my ball.

Furthermore, during the interview, the two men mentioned concerns about the future of democracy, celebrity guardianship, such as the situation with Britney Spears, and made remarks like, "If Musk owned Twitter at the time, Michelle Obama would not have become the First Lady, and if Musk didn't have Twitter, Obama wouldn't have been elected." They also stated, "I even have a Tesla, which is also a fan of clean energy, climate change, and free speech."

This incident quickly became a hot topic on Twitter, and Musk responded to CNBC's report with "laughing to death."

Binance to Build Team to Assist Twitter Optimization

A spokesperson from Binance told the external media outlet Decrypt:

Binance is currently forming an internal team focused on blockchain, cryptocurrency, and other technologies to assist Musk in achieving his vision, such as creating on-chain solutions to tackle issues like the surge in bot accounts. The overall plan is still in its early stages.

Binance founder Zhao Changpeng also tweeted to liberate Twitter from its constraints.

Trump's Return Further Delayed

Due to Musk's previous criticism of Twitter permanently banning Trump's account, along with the immediate dismissal of relevant executives upon taking over Twitter, speculation has been high about the possibility of Trump's Twitter account being reinstated.

However, Musk recently tweeted emphasizing:

Twitter will establish a content review committee with a wide range of different viewpoints. Before this committee convenes, there will be no major decisions or incidents such as restoring Twitter accounts.
