All Eyes on the Breakthrough
What caused the most excitement in the cryptocurrency community yesterday was Ethereum (ETH) breaking the $500 mark. This is the first time since July 2018 that Ethereum has reached $500. Following the celebration of Ethereum's breakthrough, the next highly anticipated milestone in the market is Bitcoin (BTC) breaking its all-time high (ATH) and reaching $20,000.
Capitalizing on this trend, CoinMarketCap, the cryptocurrency data platform previously acquired by Binance, launched a prediction event for Bitcoin hitting $20,000. This event allows all Binance users to predict the timeframe in which Bitcoin will surpass $20,000 and share a total prize pool of $10,000 worth of Bitcoin.
Game Rules Breakdown
According to the platform, participants can join the event for free by logging into their CoinMarketCap account and linking it to their Binance account. Participants can enter three timeframes for Bitcoin breaking $20,000 (note that the time unit is UTC), and they can update their predictions until the end of the event.
If multiple users select the correct timeframe, the first three winners will be selected based on the first-come, first-win basis and will receive $2,000, $1,500, and $1,000 worth of Bitcoin respectively. The remaining users who selected the correct timeframe will share $5,500 worth of Bitcoin equally. Rewards will be airdropped to the linked Binance accounts within five days after the event ends.
Furthermore, the price data source will be based on the BTC/USDT trading pair on Binance. The event will conclude once Bitcoin hits $20,000. In the unfortunate event that Bitcoin does not reach $20,000 this year, the event will end on January 19, 2021.
