Bitboy One revives classic video games, handheld console drives DePIN application scenarios

Investment firm Sora Ventures, known for investing in KnownOrigin NFT Marketplace and Stacks, has invested in a Bitcoin handheld gaming device called Bitboy One this year. Developed by the Ordz Games team, Bit Boy One's applications include Bitcoin mining, gaming, Play To Earn, and more. Setting itself apart from other GameFi and Ordinals projects on the market, Bitboy One aims to expand its user base to the general public, with the claim that children can use BitBoy One as a toy, while adults can play and earn coins through cloud transmission. The development team plans to collaborate on developing more classic retro games so consumers can play anytime, anywhere, even offline.

Bitboy One has a retro design, resembling the classic handheld game console Gameboy by Nintendo. The handheld device comes preloaded with a variety of retro electronic games, such as the PAC-Man arcade game that was popular in the 80s, serving as a nostalgic symbol of that era for many.

The games in the nostalgic arcade are simple, controlled by using the directional keys to navigate mazes, find treasures, and avoid enemy attacks. Featuring a user-friendly interface, these games are suitable for all ages. The hallmark of these games is their low-resolution screens filled with noise, typically created using HTML or JavaScript, accompanied by simple electronic sound effects.

The pre-order price for the Bitcoin handheld console BitBoy is $500, combining chain gaming, Play To Earn, and a hardware wallet.

Bitboy One Main Product Features

Built-in NFC Communication

Bitboy One comes with built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. NFC allows for peer-to-peer communication, enabling two-way data transfer. While both NFC and RFID are communication technologies, the main difference lies in the distance over which they operate. RFID can operate over 100 meters, whereas NFC is designed for close-range communication, typically within 0-5 centimeters. This limited range ensures the security of data transfer between devices.

Built-in Wallet Functionality

Bitboy One features built-in hardware encryption wallet functionality, compatible with five wallets including UniSat, Xverse, OKX, Bitget, and Gate.

DePIN Application Scenarios

A key development highlight of Bitboy One is the DePin (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) application. Through a token reward mechanism that allows users to earn while participating, the platform aims to incentivize user involvement in the development of essential infrastructure such as storage space, communication bandwidth, cloud computing, and energy resources. Bitboy One's mechanism maximizes profits for miners and users, driving a new wave of communal mining activities.
