Meta has officially launched its competitor to Twitter's "Threads" today, with founder Zuckerberg releasing a video this morning inviting everyone to try out this latest social platform. I've already signed up, and interested readers are welcome to follow along and experience the features together!

"Threads" New Social Platform Officially Launched

As previously introduced, Threads can be logged in directly through Instagram after downloading. At this point, the screen will first display Instagram's following users, where you can choose whom to follow and set whether to make your account public.

After logging in through Instagram, a Threads icon will appear on the Instagram profile, which can be hidden. Other users can click on it to view that user's Threads account, and the number in the background represents the order in which the user joined Threads.

Introduction to Threads Features

Below is Mark Zuckerberg's Threads personal page, where you can see that the overall interface and functions are somewhat similar to Twitter. In addition to liking and commenting on each thread, you can also repost. However, on Threads, it is not called "Retweet" or "Quote Tweet," but rather "Repost" and "Quote."

Furthermore, there are various sharing options. In addition to sharing Threads to Instagram as a story or post, you can also share them to Twitter.

If you look closely at a user's Threads profile, you will notice a string of English characters below the name, which represents the user's Threads ID. In the future, this ID can be used on social media federation platforms to follow and interact with others. If you have a blue checkmark verification on Instagram, Threads will inherit it as well.

Finally, when it comes to the most important function of posting, Threads translates it as "threading." After entering content for each post, simply double-click to move to the next layer. For users who like to post long articles, Threads is a great place for them to fully express themselves. However, it is important to note that once a thread is published, the content cannot be edited, and there is a 500-character limit.

Although Threads primarily focuses on "text" communities, you can still add images, links, and GIFs to threads, as well as attach videos within five minutes.

Is Threads Good Enough? Will Twitter's "Adult Content" Appear on Threads?

As a competitor to Twitter, Threads seems to be slightly inferior in core functionality compared to Twitter, aside from the initial platform instability issues during the launch.

Furthermore, for those who have been active on Twitter for many years, they will know that Twitter's control over some "adult" content is quite lenient. Even in countries with a user base that is about half of Instagram's, it can attract users due to this relaxed approach.

After some time of trial, sensitive content is less visible on Threads, and within this scope, Twitter's advantages remain.

Having said that, Meta is leveraging its advantage to directly redirect a large number of Instagram users to Threads. If they can continue to optimize the product and develop their own unique features, there is still a chance for Threads to grow into a strong competitor to Twitter.

Multiple Benefits for Threads! Meta's Stock Price Continues to Rise

With the announcement and official launch of Threads, Meta's stock price continues to rise, increasing by about 8.5% in the past month, with a daily increase of about 3% yesterday.
