Jump off a building sale! Solana smartphone Saga is now 40% off, from the original price of 1,000 MGH to only 599.

The blockchain phone project of Solana was officially announced in June last year. After about a year of development, the Solana phone "Saga" has finally been made available for purchase by users in various regions starting from May this year. Today, in order to further expand the community and adoption of the phone, the Solana team has announced a significant price reduction for Saga, now available for only 599!

Solana Mobile Saga on Sale!

According to a Twitter announcement by Solana Mobile, in an effort to boost the adoption of Web3 mobile devices and enhance the experience of the Solana mobile community, the official Solana team has decided to reduce the price of the Saga. The price has been slashed from the original $1,000 to $599, a significant 40% decrease.

During the first four months of the Solana mobile launch, early users have been able to enjoy various discounts and perks through Saga genesis tokens, such as NFT minting qualifications and dApp usage rights. The team has stated that they will continue to offer diverse rewards in the future and support more dApps for user engagement.

Note: Currently, Saga phones cannot be purchased in Taiwan.

Community Expansion Over Profit Maximization

Based on the responses in the community to the post, many supporters of Solana view this as positive news. However, some early backers feel they purchased too soon and have incurred several hundred dollars in losses.

Furthermore, such a substantial price reduction will undoubtedly impact the profitability potential of Solana Mobile. However, according to Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko's perspective shared in October last year, Saga was described as an experimental project that may not yield economic benefits in the short term, emphasizing the affordability factor that allows for experimentation.

Instead of prioritizing immediate product profits, Solana's strategy seems to lean towards expanding the user base. By offering a lower price point, they aim to attract more individuals to take the first step in experiencing blockchain technology through mobile devices.
