New Generation Orb Introduces a Brand New Verification Method
One of the highlights on Hello World is the launch of the new Orb, aimed at making the verification process of World ID faster and more efficient.
Equipped with the Latest NVIDIA Jetson Chip, Boosting AI Computing Power by 5 Times
The new Orb utilizes the latest NVIDIA Jetson chip, increasing AI computing power by nearly 5 times compared to the previous generation. Not only has hardware and software been significantly upgraded, but the number of components has also been reduced by 30%, doubling the assembly speed of the new Orb. It also adds a detachable external SD card for easier auditing and verification of privacy protection on the Orb.
Technical improvements and new operational modes introduced include:
- Enhanced infrared and visible light cameras to improve low-light, fraud detection, and image security.
- Connectivity to 5G networks.
- Global flagship Orb stores.
- Allowing individuals and businesses to purchase or rent Orbs.
- Self-service Orb verification machines.
These modes will significantly enhance the accessibility of verification, making it easier for more people to verify their World ID. The countries expected to be visited by Orb include Taiwan!
World ID 3.0: Introducing New Credentials and Enhanced Privacy Protection
One of the major new features introduced this time is the launch of World ID Credentials, allowing users to store physical NFC passport information in the World App and prove their age, nationality, and passport ownership without exposing personal information.
Upon verification with World ID Credentials, users can claim WLD tokens in advance
In addition, verified passport holders can even claim WLD tokens in advance in specific regions before completing Orb verification, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of the World Network early.
Introducing Deep Face Feature and AMPC Technology to Enhance Personal Data Security
World ID 3.0 also introduces more robust privacy protection technologies, including:
- Deep Face: Combines Orb imaging, personal data management, and facial recognition to verify that users are interacting with real humans.
- Anonymous Multi-Party Computation (AMPC): A new generation technology for Secure Multi-Party Computation (SMPC) that anonymizes and secures iris data of World ID users, using NVIDIA H100 GPU to compare up to 50 million data sets per second.
Note: NFC passports embed a chip containing the passport holder's personal data, such as photos, fingerprints, signatures, and other biometric features, as well as printed information on the passport.
Collaboration with Multiple Third-Party Organizations to Advance Decentralization and Transparency
World Network has partnered with blockchain company Nethermind to manage an independent anonymous database. It has also signed agreements with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany and the Decentralized Intelligence Center RDI at the University of California, Berkeley, to manage other anonymous databases. By the end of 2024, these new databases will fully replace those currently managed by organizations related to the World Network.
World App 3.0: A Super App Designed for Humanity
This newly designed World App 3.0 aims to make it seamless for more people to use the World Network, allowing third-party applications to run within the World App, anonymously integrating user's World ID, wallets, and contact information. Users can chat with friends, make payments, and even play games with other verified individuals.
Key Features of World App 3.0
- Mini Apps: The new Mini Apps platform allows third-party applications to run directly within the World App, anonymously integrating user's World ID, wallet, and contact information.
- Upgraded Wallet: The World App wallet, with over 150 million transactions and $15 billion in transaction volume, has added Vault and World Pay functions, available in select regions, making the wallet more practical.
- Enhanced Security with Community Features: Community features have been added to help users assist one another, increasing security.
