Uniswap releases six updates: v3 custom price range UI significantly improved, governance proposals more user-friendly

Since the launch of Uniswap v3, the largest decentralized exchange for Ethereum, on May 5th, it has locked assets worth $1.6 billion, with daily trading volumes ranging from $800 million to $2 billion. Uniswap v2 had $3.86 billion in locked assets, with daily trading volumes between $1 billion and $3 billion in May, but decreased to $500 million to $700 million from June to July.

Despite the "concentrated liquidity" of Uniswap v3, which requires custom price ranges, it doesn't seem to be a tool widely used by retail investors at the moment, but it has still achieved some initial success overall.

After more than two months, Uniswap released a blog post announcing six new features and improvements. Let's take a look together!

  • Automated fee tier selection
  • Liquidity range chart
  • Create proposal UI
  • 30 language translations and crowdsourcing tools
  • Uniswap Help Center
  • Improved explanatory documents and a new one-page website

Automatic Fee Tier Selection

With v3, users can choose their desired fee tier when providing liquidity, but many are unsure of which tier to select. Therefore, Uniswap will now preselect the most popular fee tier when selecting fees in an update. However, users can still click "Edit" to choose other tiers, and it will also show the adoption rates of each fee tier.

Liquidity Range Chart

This feature is very helpful! In previous versions, users needed to check the liquidity distribution on an analysis page and then return to set the desired liquidity range, which was inconvenient. In the new feature, users can directly see the real-time liquidity distribution on the same page and set price ranges by dragging the chart.

Proposal Creation UI

Effective governance functionality for Uniswap's UNI token is crucial for its value among the community. Previously, governance proposals on Uniswap were not as active and mainly involved participants familiar with the Solidity language.

However, Uniswap has improved the user interface for governance by introducing a proposal creation page where users can express their ideas to the community by clicking "Create Proposal." The threshold for proposals has been reduced from 10 million delegated UNI to 2.5 million. They believe that lowering the technical barrier for governance proposals will enhance participation.

30 Language Translations and Community Tools

Regular Uniswap users may have noticed the language switch feature is now live (click the three dots in the top right corner). After testing, it was found that there are still areas where Chinese translations could be improved.

Uniswap also allows the community to participate in translation projects:

Uniswap Help Center

Uniswap has launched a Help Center page. They mention that it includes tutorials on how to use Uniswap on Layer 2 and have compiled content such as "Step-by-Step Guide | Uniswap Launches Optimistic Rollup, Fees Ten Times Cheaper Than Ethereum Mainnet."

Improved Documentation and New One-Page Website

The documentation has a new page with a search function and added a lot of content about v3 features.
