SBF planned to meet with former President Clinton before bankruptcy, once advised the son of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas on an NFT project.

The evidence presented by the prosecution shows the popularity of SBF at FTX before the bankruptcy, including 32 investment institutions such as George Soros and Morgan Stanley requesting to participate in the dinner. In addition to actively meeting with many political celebrities, SBF also provided special guidance for the NFT project of the son of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas.

SBF Arranged Meetings with Political Figures

According to a report by CoinDesk, FBI agent Richard Busick, who specializes in analyzing phone records, testified during the SBF trial that despite residing in the Bahamas for an extended period, SBF frequently visited New York in 2022 to meet with various political figures. All of SBF's appointments were arranged by the PR head, Natalie Tien.

The prosecutor also presented an email from Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis as evidence. In September 2022, as his son was working on an NFT project, he inquired if SBF could have a conversation with his son.

SBF replied with his phone number and mentioned that they could also connect via Zoom.

Following FTX's bankruptcy, the Securities Commission of The Bahamas faced criticism for providing shelter to FTX. In April of this year, the country's regulatory body tightened cryptocurrency regulations, stating in the new bill:

Operators of digital asset exchanges must ensure that the systems and risk control mechanisms used in their activities are adequate and suitable for their business scale and nature.
