This fund has been under scrutiny since the beginning of the year, with officials in January stating that the US government is processing the 2,875 BTC and 59 BTC seized from drug dealers Ryan Farace and Sean Bridges in 2021.

The US Department of Justice indicted Farace in 2018, accusing him of illegally selling Xanax on the dark web in exchange for Bitcoin.

Subsequently, Ryan's father, Joseph Farace, was also convicted of money laundering, transferring Bitcoin, and the Department of Justice ultimately recovered 2,935 BTC from this father-son duo, emphasizing the liquidation of the mentioned assets.
