According to a report by TechCrunch, NVIDIA announced the artificial intelligence platform GR00T at the GTC conference.
Founder Huang Renxun said:
Building foundational models for general humanoid robots is one of the most exciting things in the field of artificial intelligence today!
NVIDIA is building an artificial intelligence platform for companies recently entering the industry, including 1X Technologies, Agility Robotics, Apptronik, Boston Dynamics, Figure AI, Fourier Intelligence, Sanctuary AI, Unitree Robotics, and XPENG Robotics. This covers almost all the famous humanoid robot manufacturers currently, except for Tesla.
Among them, Figure AI's humanoid robots use OpenAI models, with major backers including Microsoft, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Intel Capital, and Jeff Bezos' family office. A video of human-robot interaction last week also caught public attention.
In the video, Huang Renxun invited Disney Research Studios' BDX robots - Little Green and Little Orange - to interact with him on stage in an adorable manner.
