Fantom Foundation hit by zero-day hacker attack! Employees lose $7 million in assets.
The Fantom Foundation wallet was reportedly hacked in a zero-day attack yesterday evening (17), resulting in losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars. The cause is currently under investigation, but it has been reported that some employees suffered heavy losses, with the hack amounting to as much as 7 million dollars.

Fantom Foundation Hacked, Employees Lose $7 Million in Assets
According to an announcement by the Fantom Foundation, the foundation lost approximately $550,000 in funds in the recent hack, which represents only a small portion as over 99% of the foundation's funds remain unaffected.
The zero-day exploit was executed through the Chrome browser, and the Fantom team is currently investigating the cause. Additionally, some affected wallets were labeled as "foundation wallets," although some were not controlled by the foundation but belonged to team members personally.
As reported by The Block, Fantom Foundation's co-founder Andre Cronje revealed that an employee lost at least $7 million in crypto assets in this attack.
This finding is consistent with Certik's tracking results, where the stolen funds were moved to an EOA wallet holding approximately 4,501 ETH, equivalent to around $7 million.
