Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission License Application List Released
According to Huang Lok-Yan, Director of the Intermediaries Division of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, there are currently only four applicants on the license application list: HKbitEX, HKBGE, HKVAX, and Victory.
Sun Yuchen's Huobi and OKX Missing
Previously, Sun Yuchen stated in an interview that he expected to obtain a Hong Kong license within 6 to 12 months. As far as he knows, there are a total of five exchange operators, including Huobi, who are interested in applying for a license, namely OKX, Gate.io, Bybit, and Bitget.
OKX's Global Business Director Andy Cheung previously told the media that OKX HK's compliance license application in Hong Kong is in its final stages and hopes to receive it in the first or second quarter of next year.
OKX Response: Formal Submission of Application by End of October
OKX stated on 9/25 that since announcing its intention to apply in March, they have made steady progress in preparing the VASP to submit the license application under the current regime. They are expected to formally submit the license application by the end of October.
