"Trump Meets Bitcoin Miners, Promises to Protect Mining: Hopes Remaining Bitcoin Will Be Mined in the U.S."

Bloomberg reported that Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, met with several Bitcoin miners and industry professionals at his Mar-a-Lago estate, pledging to publicly advocate for, support, and protect Bitcoin mining in Washington D.C. and the White House. He claimed that miners help maintain the stability of the energy grid, further solidifying his pro-cryptocurrency stance.

Trump Promises to Protect Bitcoin Miners

As part of his election campaign, Trump met with several prominent Bitcoin miners in the United States last night and expressed his support for Bitcoin mining during the meeting.

Reports say he promised attendees that he would advocate for Bitcoin mining in the White House, stating that miners would help stabilize the energy grid.

Attendees included large miners listed on Nasdaq such as CleanSpark, Riot Platforms, Marathon Digital, as well as the CEO and executives of media outlets like Bitcoin Magazine. Most of the representatives posted photos with Trump on the social media platform X.

Jason Les, CEO of Riot Platforms, which is currently in the process of acquiring another miner, Bitfarms, also mentioned Trump's commitment in a tweet:

President Trump will protect the rights of all those who own, mine, and transact with Bitcoin, as well as the rights of many of us working in the Bitcoin industry.

Co-founder of CleanSpark, S Matthew Schultz, also expressed optimism:

I just met someone who is a huge fan of Bitcoin and likes what we are doing.

Trump: Bitcoin is the Last Line of Defense Against CBDCs

After the meeting, Trump also posted on his own social media platform, Truth Social, criticizing his opponent Biden for his hostile attitude towards Bitcoin:

Bitcoin mining may be our last line of defense against CBDCs. I hope all the remaining Bitcoins are mined in the United States, which will help us become energy dominant!

He also added, "Democrats, including Biden, are more inclined to design government-led solutions."

Election Maneuvering on Crypto Issues

As the November US election approaches, Trump's stance on cryptocurrency is quite clear, from accepting cryptocurrency donations to claiming he will commute the sentence of Silk Road founder, showing his active support.

Reuters previously reported that Trump's fundraising event in Silicon Valley raised $12 million, attracting crypto industry figures like Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

However, whether he will fulfill his promises remains to be seen.

On the other hand, Democratic presidential candidate Biden's stance on cryptocurrency has also shifted. The Block claims that since May, his campaign team has been seeking advice and guidance from members of the crypto industry on digital asset policies.

Last month, Biden also sought a "meme manager" as a new strategy to appeal to young voters and the Gen Z demographic.
