Trump Changes His Mind: Bitcoin is "Interesting" But I Still Like the Dollar

During a Fox News interview, Trump emphasized that he still favors the US dollar and remains neutral towards Bitcoin, neither supporting nor opposing it.

Did Trump's Criticism of CBDCs Indicate Support for BTC?

FOX host first mentioned China's strong push for central bank digital currencies, while Trump openly criticized CBDCs in a speech in January of this year.

At that time, Trump emphasized that if elected, he would ban the Federal Reserve from issuing CBDCs, citing potential risks of de-banking and political weaponization that CBDCs may bring.

Trump: "Will never allow the Fed to issue CBDCs, the federal government will control your money"

The FOX host then asked:

So, would embracing Bitcoin be the next logical step in policy? Because obviously Bitcoin is a decentralized currency not controlled by the government.

Trump: Bitcoin Phenomenon is Quite Interesting

Trump emphasized that he still prefers the US dollar, and remains neutral towards Bitcoin:

The currency that I have always favored is called the US dollar, many people are getting into Bitcoin, frankly it has moved along its own path, but may need some regulation. In fact, the public is continuing to embrace Bitcoin, and more and more, I see people wanting to pay with Bitcoin, there are some very interesting developments. I remain neutral on this, I have always liked something really strong, which is the US dollar.

Based on Trump's past statements during his tenure, his attitude towards Bitcoin has significantly improved. He once criticized the value of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as being based on thin air and extremely volatile, involving many illegal activities.
