Not an Ethereum Killer! Solana Founder Clarifies: Ethereum is Unkillable, Collaborating to Build Web3 is the Future

This year, with the rise of many public chain projects and the failure to significantly improve the high transaction fees of Ethereum, Ethereum's position is being challenged from all sides. The issue of "Ethereum killers" has resurfaced, with Solana standing out. However, the founder of Solana clarified today and voiced support for the positions of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The Underlying Battle of Public Chains

Chris Burniske, a partner at venture capital firm Placeholder, recently pointed out on Twitter that the battle among public chains may seem calm on the surface, but there are actually strong undercurrents. Most people hope that the projects they invest the most in will succeed, and this bias affects communication among everyone.

He advocates not taking everything seen and heard in the crypto community as truth, as everyone, including himself, may be biased. He stated:

I used to hope that every faction could get along, but then I started to accept that we inherently have tribalism, and competition among us all makes everyone more prosperous. Is this good? Maybe not. Do these things really exist? Definitely.

Solana Co-Founder: Ethereum Cannot and Should Not Die

Raj Gokal, co-founder of Solana, responded to this, stating that he believes that the fight is truly unnecessary, and the more key infrastructures, the better. As time progresses, users can prove whether seamless migration between platforms is feasible, and the potential market size will be anyone with a computer or phone, working together to bring all users into Web 3.0.

Raj Gokal emphasized that this is different from smartphones, where the proliferation of software and apps is much faster, such as social platforms reaching a billion users quickly as a good example. He believes that the wealth created by blockchain applications is immense, and everyone will benefit from it, therefore enabling cooperation:

Ethereum cannot be killed, it is impossible. It is already a great force for good in the world, giving millions of people the ability to create billions of dollars in wealth, just like Bitcoin. Stop defining these as battles.

Raj Gokal expressed his helplessness, as every time non-Ethereum blockchains like Solana experience significant growth, they are seen as competing with existing public chains. Solana recently completed the Lisbon Summit, reaching its peak in terms of volume, and both price and ecosystem growth rates are impressive. However, there is still a gap in market value compared to BNB tokens on BSC, which are compatible with Ethereum.
