According to the Financial Times, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is reportedly planning to allow users to create and sell NFTs, tapping into the digital collectibles craze.

Insiders suggest that teams at Facebook and Instagram are working on a feature that would enable users to display their NFTs on their social media profiles, as well as developing prototypes for creating and minting NFTs. Additionally, discussions about an NFT marketplace are reportedly underway at the company.

Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, mentioned in December that they are actively exploring NFTs but did not disclose further details. However, there have been rumors that the company is already working on a feature to showcase NFTs. Insiders also indicate that the development of NFTs is crucial for Novi, the wallet launched just last October.

The Financial Times reported that Meta declined to comment on this news.
