Dune launches "Poop NFT" to mock the trend of airdrops in the cryptocurrency community! The founder also lists three reasons for disliking airdrops.

The blockchain data platform Dune recently launched a mischievous airdrop project, distributing various feces-themed NFTs to mock the prevailing trend of "airdrop farming." At the same time, one of Dune's co-founders shared three reasons for disliking airdrops on social media and stated that Dune has no plans to issue its own token in the future.

Dune's Sarcastic "Poop Airdrop"

As a seasoned and practical blockchain data platform, Dune has been considered by "airdrop farmers" as one of the potential platforms for coin distribution. However, in the latest "airdrop" tweet released by Dune, their sarcasm and disdain towards airdrops can be clearly seen.

In the tweet, the official announcement of their airdrop plan was made, but instead of using the word "Airdrop," they used "AirDump" to describe the airdrop.

In the crypto market, "Dump" means "dumping goods, selling off," perhaps indicating that the tokens distributed in the airdrop are purely meant for market dumping and serve no other purpose.

Furthermore, Dune's airdrop this time is not about distributing tokens, but issuing 1,337 freshly minted "poop" NFTs, clearly illustrating Dune's belief in the futility of airdrops.

However, if you truly want to receive Dune's poop airdrop, all you need to do is have linked your Dune account with a blockchain wallet in the past, and you can mint up to 3 poop NFTs on the airdrop page depending on how early of a user you are.

Additionally, after the two-week presale period ends, you can also participate in the public sale for 0.01 ETH.

"We want airdrop farmers to know: we will never abandon you, never disappoint you!" Dune stated.

Three Reasons Why Dune's Co-Founder Dislikes Airdrops

Aside from the sarcastic tweet, Dune's co-founder @hagaetc recently shared three reasons why he dislikes airdrops:

  1. They create a "community" focused on short-term wealth creation.
  2. It is a ridiculous capital expenditure for airdrop farmers.
  3. It cannot create long-term value for anyone.

Additionally, @hagaetc stated that if Dune wanted to distribute coins, they would have done so already, but they haven't and won't in the future.
