According to a report by UPI, the South Korean capital Seoul has planned a five-year municipal metaverse roadmap, which is expected to feature full functionality for government, business, tourism, and cultural products. The city government has stated that $1.6 million has been spent on the first phase of building Metaverse Seoul, with plans to invest $2.2 million in the second phase later this year.

Citizens can now download the first phase of Metaverse Seoul from Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store. This phase supports searching for official documents, filing complaints, or obtaining customized answers regarding local taxes. In the business support center, companies can engage in remote consultations with experts through chat, voice, video, and screen-sharing features. The platform also offers youth guidance and educational assistance through virtual avatars.

Furthermore, users can play games in Seoul Square and visit the mayor's office. The metaverse also recreates Seoul's top ten popular tourist attractions, including Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Dongdaemun Square, Seoul Forest Park, Han River, and Lotte Tower.
