STEPN, after update, suffers DDoS attack, causing users to lose tokens and unable to play normally

After the update on the 19th, the "Stepn" game, which allows users to earn rewards while exercising, experienced a DDOS attack that caused server congestion, leading to many users being unable to play the game normally and even resulting in the loss of tokens in their wallets. However, the official statement mentioned that the functionality has now been restored, and users who suffered losses during this period can fill out a form to report the issues.

STEPN Wallet Token Loss and Network Congestion

According to an announcement from STEPN's official Discord, if users experience token loss in their wallets, they can switch the wallet network from Solana to BNB chain within the game, then switch it back to Solana to recover the lost tokens. If the tokens are still not retrieved after this process, users can fill out a form to report the issue.

Long press on the Solana icon in the upper right corner to switch networks:

Furthermore, if users encounter network congestion, they can improve the situation by:

  • Switching networks
  • Turning on airplane mode for 1 minute and reconnecting
  • Switching from 5G network to 4G network
  • Using a VPN
  • Rebooting the device
