First in Chinese media! The Initium Media reappears disappeared content, issuing NFT "Vanished ____"

The Stand News announced today on its website the first issuance of an NFT series titled "The Erased." This series will consist of three pieces, documenting the story of a migrant worker who was displaced during the clearance of low-end population in Beijing at the end of 2017; the Weibo posts after the passing of COVID-19 whistleblower Dr. Li Wenliang; and the turbulent fate of Hong Kong media and news programs amid current events.

Initium Media becomes the first Chinese-language media to issue NFTs.

The project "The Disappeared ____" chose to release on the trading platform Opensea. The first minted NFT, "One in Two Hundred Thousand: Foreign Workers Under the 'Beijing Cuts'," was uploaded on September 8th, priced and limited to 3 copies for sale.

This piece, in visual form, features an interview with Mr. Nie, who moved his family from Jiangxi to Beijing to run a small shop, narrating his shattered Beijing dream. Next, Initium will release two more NFTs, "732,370 Lines: Li Wenliang's Weibo Becomes China's Crying Wall" and "No More Clangor: The Lost Corner of Hong Kong Media."

Initium Media stated that through the form of NFTs, collectors will receive a unique code, like a key to time, opening the doors of history to read these vanished fragments. They hope these artworks can capture precious moments where individuals connect with public events and the ensuing reflections. By sharing memories with readers through these pieces, they aim to resist forgetting, erasure, and the graffiti on history.
