"No skill to win with skill! Text-based RPG NFT

"Launching a coin" requires identifying a problem that many people want to solve, and also maintaining the token economy; "Launching an NFT" makes everything easier, you just need to let people's imagination run wild. The current cryptocurrency market seems to be dominated by NFT themes, with new and imaginative projects emerging daily. The "Loot Project" appears to have taken imagination to the extreme by releasing NFTs that consist solely of text, even catching the attention of Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin.

Vitalik stated: "The philosophy behind the Loot Project is correct: most of what people create already exists, what matters is how much other people build upon it."

Loot: A Text-Based RPG NFT?

Before massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) like "World of Warcraft" appeared, their predecessor was online text-based role-playing games that described characters, equipment, and skills with only text. Games like MUD have a similar flavor to the "Loot Project."

In the screenshot below, with a black background and white text, eight words are displayed: Club, Chain Mail, Silk Hood, Wool Sash of the Twins, Wool Shoes of Skill, Necklace of Enlightenment, and Platinum Ring.

Having these "equipment" can be quite valuable, with a current price of 4.7 ETH, equivalent to $17,000. The lowest market price before the deadline has already reached 6.1 ETH.

Loot: How did it start without money?

Twitter celebrity dom, the creator of the Twitter-owned app Vine, and the Ethereum metaverse project Blitmaps, introduced the Loot project on August 28th. It offers randomly generated adventure equipment deliberately without any images or data, leaving interpretation up to the players. The impressive part is that it is free; you only need to pay the Gas Fee. 8,000 Loot items were released, and because initially, interaction was only possible directly with smart contracts, experienced players had an advantage in acquiring them.

Loot: Expanding Imaginative Applications

As commented by Vitalik: "Once something exists, there is an absolute truth, and what you can do is limited by the rules encoded in that thing. But what makes something important is determined by some more nebulous force."

The Loot community is unleashing creativity to enrich this text-based RPG. Many have created contracts allowing Loot holders to generate corresponding images, ability values, personalities, levels, missions, items, etc. Here is a compilation of various contracts. Some even use AI to automatically generate equipment images for Loot:

Alternatively, not all are tech-related; some hand-draw content for their NFTs:

The Privileged Attributes of NFTs Are Beginning

As discussed in the Podcast on NFT development, it will become a privilege, a membership card.

CryptoPunks and Bored Ape are already considered qualifications and identities in the cryptocurrency community. Loot even introduces platforms like Divine Roles. Not only do you need Loot, but you also require Divine Robes to enter. It is said that many prominent figures in the crypto community have joined this platform.

Similar to organized crime families or brotherhoods, these networks composed of NFTs may become exclusive information hubs for future exclusive news and secret plans.
