The NFT project Moonbirds, issued by the PROOF community in April last year, announced on the 18th that it will launch the token TALONS in a Twitter Space.

What is Moonbirds?

Moonbirds is the first 10,000-piece NFT project by PROOF, seen by investors as having similar capabilities as "PROOF Collective," including whitelist qualifications, airdrops, and other rewards. It is also considered a pass to enter the top Alpha community, garnering widespread attention even before its launch. After reaching a trading price of 30 ETH in May, the price plummeted during the bear market along with negative news, with the trading floor price at 3 ETH at the time of writing.

Moonbirds Reward Token TALONS

During a Moonbirds Twitter Space live stream, the official team mentioned that holders can earn TALONS tokens through a "nesting" mechanism. The nesting mechanism is based on the experience value of holding Moonbirds.

Founder Kevin Rose stated that it is similar to credit card points, where users can use these tokens to bid on upcoming exclusive whitelist series, obtain goods, offline events, and partnership experiences. The Beta version of the TALONS project will be limited to Moonbirds holders and will only be used within the PROOF internal ecosystem.

This TALONS token mechanism aims to improve the existing nesting mechanism, allowing users to earn tokens not by locking Moonbirds for a long time but by holding them. This mechanism is hoped to showcase the market value of Moonbirds more effectively.

Is Moonbirds Too Late to the Game?

During the live stream, Moonbirds introduced their collaborations with many artists such as Beeple, the Diamond Exhibition, the new project Mythics egg exclusively available for Moonbirds holders, the Oddities project obtainable through destruction, and the TALONS mechanism.

The official team has created a story and animation for the Moonbirds world, connecting multiple NFT projects under PROOF in both application and narrative. They hope that holders will bring diverse aspects to the entire ecosystem through different choices and actions.

On the other hand, some in the community feel that Moonbirds, despite changes to the locking mechanism, is still progressing too slowly.
