Murakami.Flowers is an NFT artwork released by Takashi Murakami in February 2022, consisting of 108 varieties of small flowers and 108 background combinations, totaling 11,664 unique combinations. Despite its price following the market downward, the Murakami team continues to release peripheral products and related activities.
First Exposure of Flower CardsIn April of this year, during a collaboration event with RTFKT, Takashi Murakami gave away the first batch of physical cards to participants. Only one design was issued at that time, but some cards have rare features.
Murakami mentioned that it was only recently that people started to notice and sell them at high prices on the secondary market.
In June of this year, Murakami.Flowers holders were also able to register and receive physical cards. The registration has now ended.
Upcoming Public Sale of Physical CardsTakashi Murakami stated that there are plans for more physical cards for Murakami.Flowers in the future. Although there may not be immediate profits for NFT holders, Murakami hopes that this product will be helpful for long-term project operations.
The team plans to officially sell these physical cards to the public in early 2024, and intends to conduct a small-scale sale in advance to test the market. The team is currently preparing eight different styles of cards for this event, including some versions with higher rarity.
According to the author's investigation, the secondary market for these physical cards currently has an average selling price of around 1,500 to 2,000 New Taiwan Dollars as of the deadline.
