According to the official announcement from Michelin Twitter account, Michelin is set to launch an NFT series called the "Michelin 3xplorer Club," featuring its well-known Michelin Man mascot, Bibendum, with each version having unique functionalities.
Holders of this NFT will have the opportunity to participate in various Michelin events through a monthly draw organized by Michelin, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, becoming a member of a cycling tour, and dining at Michelin-starred restaurants.
As reported by the French media outlet Journal du net here, the Michelin NFT is expected to be released on Ethereum in June, with a total of 5,000 units available for purchase at a price of 0.1 ETH each.
In an interview with brand manager Christiane Zelus, she mentioned that this is a great opportunity for Michelin to engage with consumers: "Our tire users most often interact with dealers, and as far as Michelin guides are concerned, we certify chefs and restaurants, but there is very little direct contact with customers. We now have the opportunity to interact with customers and involve them in the development of the Michelin brand."
