"BitcoinShrooms" Featured on Sotheby’s

Based on the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol, the NFT project "BitcoinShrooms" is now up for auction on Sotheby's online platform. Three pieces will be available for bidding on Sothebys.com until December 13th.

"BitcoinShrooms" is designed by the artist Shroomtoshi, with an estimated value by Sotheby's before the bidding started ranging from $20,000 to $30,000, but the bidding price by Sovereign Individual has surged to nearly $50,000.

Sotheby's Digital Art Sales Manager, Michael Bouhanna, announced this yesterday.

Sotheby's emphasizes that the design of "BitcoinShrooms" portrays the exquisite and fun side of the Bitcoin revolution. The three auctioned pieces are as follows.

S

S has received 45 bids, with the bidding price reaching $38,000, where "S" stands for Self-Sovereignty.

Sovereign Individual

The current highest bid is $48,000, inspired by Rees Mogg's 1998 work "The Sovereign Individual," which predicted the emergence of digital currencies based on cryptography to avoid government control.

BIP39 Seed

Self-sovereignty implies controlling one's Bitcoin private keys, hence the direct naming after the Bitcoin private key seed phrase.

The current lowest bid is $24,000, with a total of 31 bids.
