Italian luxury fashion brand Gucci has been actively seeking breakthroughs and innovations in the online space in recent years. They have recently partnered with the trendy brand Superplastic to launch a new collaboration series called "SuperGucci." The series will consist of three parts, with the first wave of 10 limited NFTs set to be released on February 1st, with no pricing or bidding rules announced at the moment.

The NFTs are co-designed by Superplastic and Gucci's design director Alessandro Michele. Each NFT will come with an Italian handmade ceramic figurine co-designed by Gucci. A total of 250 units are expected to be sold on the official website simultaneously.

On January 22nd, Gucci announced their roadmap and the launch of a Discord group on Twitter, serving as a bridge for community engagement and dialogue to expand the public's imagination of the metaverse.

Superplastic, founded by Kidrobot's Paul Budnitz in 2018, is a brand that focuses on art designer toys. It has sold millions of dollars worth of designer toys and clothing, mainly derived from its virtual character roles such as Janky & Guggimon, Dayzee & Staxx, Kranky, and ShuDog. They have previously released a series of NFTs through Nifty Gateway and also recently airdropped corresponding transformation props, actively empowering their NFT products.

The SuperGucci collaboration features Janky & Guggimon as the main visual design characters, complemented by the retro floral patterns previously announced on the website as the first wave theme.

This collaboration represents a further step for luxury fashion giants in the NFT field. Morgan Stanley has predicted that by 2030, the entire NFT market will have a market value of $300 billion, with brands like Gucci and Balenciaga currently in the best competitive position for virtual and physical integration.
