MouseBelt, a blockchain company, launched initiatives at the University of California, Davis, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara campuses on Wednesday, promoting education at prestigious U.S. schools. With over $40 million in funding from New Value Capital, MouseBelt currently supports 65 student blockchain community groups at 14 universities globally, with accelerator programs that include consulting teams, media group Bitcoin Radio, and MouseBelt University.

MouseBelt is divided into two projects aimed at elevating bachelor-level education to a doctoral level. The first fund covers research across all three campuses, particularly in blockchain project development. MouseBelt has allocated $500,000 in funds, with up to five projects competing for $100,000 in seed funding. In addition, MouseBelt has made donations to the engineering departments at the three universities, with the accelerator aiming to collaborate on general fundraising efforts for university-selected research, with a cap of $500,000.

Meredith said:

Our goal is to help these universities become drivers of innovation in the blockchain space, providing opportunities for students and researchers to gain both theoretical and industry experience.

The Demand for Blockchain Courses

Dr. Mo Shadoghi at the University of California, Davis has been working with MouseBelt for the past year, fulfilling various roles. He mentioned high student demand for blockchain courses. Shadoghi told media that his engineering blockchain course can only accommodate up to 65 students, resulting in some students being placed on a waitlist.

If all calculations are democratic and decentralized, what will the world look like?

He said in an interview. For him, blockchain technology is crucial for data storage, requiring young creativity. Shadoghi has developed his own courses at the University of California, where undergraduate students often possess the drive and energy but lack opportunities.

Blockchain technology has gained increasing attention in recent years, with many leading companies starting to develop or invest in related products and services. They first enter the market and then move into academia, officially beginning to cultivate blockchain talent from universities. In this industry that is not yet fully mature, learning early about blockchain may pave the way for a career in the blockchain industry!
