The man who once mocked Buffett now boldly declares: I will buy all the bitcoins

In June of this year, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who publicly mocked the "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffett, has recently been focusing on the surging Bitcoin in his live streams. He invited Bitcoin billionaires, the Winklevoss twins, to teach him what Bitcoin is, and boldly declared, "I'm going to buy all the Bitcoins."

Formerly Mocked Stock God, Now Day Trader of U.S. Stocks

Dave Portnoy, founder of the well-known sports and pop culture forum Barstool Sports and a day trader in U.S. stocks, regularly shares his investment views on a live show called "Davey Day Trader Global (DDTG)." Portnoy is best known for his outspoken and blunt nature. On June 9, 2020, he mocked the stock god Buffett during a live show:

"Buffett is an idiot. Look at me, it's really easy, just keep printing money, and every stock is soaring. Why cash out when airline stocks are skyrocketing 20% every day? Only losers do that. Winners go all-in... I will make $1 billion."

However, in the past few days, Portnoy's live show topics have shifted to the recent surge in Bitcoin. Two days ago (3rd), this internet celebrity mockingly said:

"Do we need a 'Bitcoin filter' to see it, can we use the green hammer in the video to mine it?"

Teach Me, I'll Go All In

Yesterday (4th), Portnoy further continued this topic, stating that he does not want to deal with wallets or lengthy passwords (private keys) and estimated that he spent $20,000 to buy Bitcoin. His assets are like being in the "mysterious power of the universe," and he does not know how to get Bitcoin or understand what his investment will turn into.

Subsequently, Portnoy turned the topic to the Winklevoss twins. The Winklevoss twins are among the world's first Bitcoin billionaires, with the brothers becoming early investors in Bitcoin by winning money (cash of $20 million and 12.53 million shares of Facebook stock) from a lawsuit against Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Portnoy stated that he has communicated with the Winklevoss twins to gain basic knowledge about Bitcoin, although he feels that they just want some free advertising through Portnoy and Barstool Sports.

Interestingly, Portnoy finally decided toinvite the Winklevoss twins to his office via Twitter to introduce him to what Bitcoin is, but they must come in their college rowing uniforms.

"If the Winklevoss brothers want to come and explain to me how to operate in a way I understand, then I am willing to delve into Bitcoin. I want both of them to appear, and I want them to sit in chairs in rowing uniforms and explain it to me."

In response, the brothers have accepted the invitation via Twitter, and Portnoy replied:

"Come on! I'm going to buy all the Bitcoin."

Portnoy has 1.7 million followers on Twitter and 750,000 on Facebook, with a large social media following. If a large number of people follow him into the cryptocurrency market, this will bring more market demand for Bitcoin.
