At 11 p.m. on the 26th, Coinbase announced the launch of the global payment solution Celo, which includes the stablecoin cUSD Celo Dollars and the governance token CELO.
It is expected to open deposits starting at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) on August 31, followed by the gradual offering of trading pairs for CELO-USD, CELO-BTC, CELO-EUR, and CELO-GBP.
As of the deadline, CELO has surged over 40%.
It was reported that Celo's main difference from other blockchains lies in the ability to send its stablecoin Celo Dollar for payments by entering the recipient's phone number, eliminating the need for complex address codes. This mechanism significantly enhances user-friendliness for the general public. Currently, the first decentralized application on the platform, Celo Wallet, is available for use on iOS and Android.
