Beeple's NFT digital artwork at Christie's auction has already reached $13.25 million, with 11 hours remaining until the closing. The price is expected to continue rising, and even if the artwork ends up being sold at the current price, it will still be the most expensive NFT transaction in history.

Breaking the Record for the Highest NFT Auction Price

According to previous reports, the renowned NFT digital artist Beeple is currently auctioning his NFT artwork "Everydays — The First 5000 Days" at Christie's, a prestigious British art and luxury goods auction house with a 250-year history. The artwork is a large puzzle composed of Beeple's daily creations from the past 13 years, making it of significant importance. This marks the first time Beeple's work is being auctioned at a traditional auction house and also the first time a traditional auction house is hosting an auction for digital artwork.

Theauction started on February 25 and will conclude on March 11 at 11 p.m. Taiwan time. The current bid for the artwork has reached $13.25 million, with 11 hours remaining until the closing. The price is expected to climb further, with Forbes reporting that the artwork could reach a final price of $20 million, propelling Beeple to the top tier of contemporary artists in the art world.

Even if the artwork is eventually auctioned at the current price, it will still be the most expensive NFT transaction in history, surpassing the $6.6 million record set by another Beeple piece last week.

Continued Rise in NFT Popularity

With the rise of NBA Top Shot and digital artists making their way into the mainstream art world, the NFT sector is growing at an astonishing pace.

In an interview with Forbes, Beeple stated:

"I think, for sure, NFTs could be another asset class. For a younger generation, they may not want to invest in stocks. Maybe they want to invest in something like digital art, which highlights their culture and how they interact with the world."

As one of the most influential digital artists today, Beeple's efforts are undoubtedly a major driving force behind the growth of the NFT market. Danny Maegaard, an NFT collector based in Australia, mentioned that there is a growing influx of people entering the NFT market, both buyers and sellers, with many well-known individuals joining due to Beeple's influence.
