Analysis of Top 1000 Cryptocurrency Projects
GuerrillaBuzz pointed out that the report has taken into account the nature of all different blogs, including research, resources, knowledge centers, and even press releases.
From January 2023 to April 2023, the analysis found that among the top 1000 projects by market capitalization:

4.7%: No blogs on either Medium or the official website
Is It a Warning Sign for Cryptocurrency Projects to Use Medium as a Blogging Platform?
84.8% of projects choose to establish blogs on Medium. Why does it matter whether the blog is on Medium or the official website?
The report's author, Yuval Halevi, who is also an SEO expert, mentioned that since the ICO frenzy, many projects have only had a one-page website, a whitepaper, and lofty promises of technological revolution. The user-friendly interface and easy publishing process of Medium have made it the best choice for projects seeking quick marketing. However, he pointed out:
Using Medium may not be a wise choice for the long-term development of a project, as it neglects important long-term marketing factors such as SEO and exposure. This actually helps Medium grow traffic rather than the project itself. In the long run, attracting users' short-term attention through Medium may not be sustainable.

No Article Updates from Cryptocurrency Projects = No Progress?
It may also be necessary to objectively view this research report. For example, not updating articles does not mean that the project code is not continuously being updated. Bitcoin has become more active with the emergence of Ordinals and BRC-20, and GMX also proposed V2 at the end of March on its governance forumpublished.
According to Deloitte research, the average lifespan of a cryptocurrency project is one year, with the highest mortality rate in the first six months. The report suggests that this may also be why cryptocurrency projects focus more on short-term marketing efforts.
