Bitwise files updated S-1, Ethereum spot ETF could be listed as soon as next week

ETF issuer Bitwise rushed to submit the S-1 form for an Ethereum spot ETF before the Independence Day holiday in the U.S. Bloomberg analysts believe that other issuers will follow suit later this week, with the Ethereum spot ETF potentially launching as early as next week.

Bitwise First to Update S-1

Bitwise has added fee waivers for the first six months in this update, with assets under management reaching up to $5 billion, but did not disclose fees beyond that.

VanEck also added fee waivers on its Ethereum ETF last week, with post-promotional fees set at 0.2%. Meanwhile, Franklin, another disclosed firm, set theirs at 0.19%.

Bloomberg Analyst: Approval Likely Next Week

James Seyffart also mentioned that as the S-1 form does not have a deadline, he is not confident in predicting the launch date of the Ethereum spot ETF. The recent updates in the S-1 form did not show significant changes, and he is puzzled as to why SEC personnel spent so much time on this.

Similarly, another Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas expressed his confusion, as with so few comments, these ETFs could easily be tradable. He speculated that perhaps some "issue" issuer slowed down the process, or it's just summer laziness or vacation. However, all signs point to a launch this month, with more details expected next week.

Bitwise Continues to Mock Traditional Finance with Advertisements

Bitwise continues to roll out advertisements for the Ethereum spot ETF, with the latest ad featuring a conversation between Big Finance, symbolizing traditional finance, and a casually dressed young person representing Ethereum. In this ad, Big Finance wears a T-shirt that says "Blockchain," holds a penguin plush, and asks Ethereum if they want to hang out or go to the moon together! When Ethereum questions if Big Finance truly understands what going to the moon means, Big Finance bluntly responds with "No." Once again, poking fun at traditional finance.
