Mastercard actively expands into Web3, exploring collaboration solutions with MoonPay and MetaMask.
The startup payment provider MoonPay has announced a partnership with MasterCard. Additionally, CoinDesk reported that MasterCard is collaborating with wallet service providers such as MetaMask and Ledger.

MoonPay: Integration with Mastercard Payment Mechanism
According to an announcement on the MoonPay official website, they have partnered with Mastercard to jointly explore how Web3 payment tools can enhance experiential marketing and connect with consumers in new ways.
Keith Grossman, former executive of Time Magazine and current Chief Business Officer at MoonPay, stated in a LinkedIn post that this announcement is not just for marketing purposes, but aims to enhance trust, compliance, and efficiency within the Web3 ecosystem.
He emphasized that this collaboration is just the beginning.
In addition, MoonPay's Web3 product suite, including ETHPass minting authorization, is expected to integrate with Mastercard's payment mechanisms such as Click to Pay.
Note: Mastercard has not announced its collaboration with MoonPay yet.

CoinDesk reported that Mastercard is exploring collaboration with wallet service providers such as MetaMask and Ledger.
Mastercard stated in the presentation:
Integration with credit cards can help wallet service providers increase active users, build loyalty, and create additional revenue streams, while also giving cardholders the opportunity to increase their cryptocurrency balances through frictionless experiences.
A spokesperson for Mastercard stated:
Mastercard is integrating with the digital asset space through a range of new products and solutions, including CBDC partners, as well as a new credit card program that integrates Web2 and Web3.
