Suspected leaked new version of Microsoft Edge interface, with built-in self-custody wallet, supporting Ethereum mainnet and coin purchasing services

Software engineer Albacore released what appears to be a new version of Microsoft's Edge browser interface on Twitter on March 17, including its first-generation Web3 wallet.

The Web3 wallet built into the Edge browser includes some basic functionalities:

Built-in Non-Custodial Wallet, Non-Extension Software

The image indicates that Microsoft is developing a self-custodial wallet, which appears to be in the internal testing phase. Microsoft warns users:

Welcome to test our first Web3 wallet. As a tester, you will be using your own funds. Microsoft will not compensate for any losses. This is a confidential project, and no details should be disclosed to the public. This is a non-custodial wallet, where users have full control over their funds. Microsoft has no access and cannot recover user passwords or private keys.

Asset Overview, Portfolio Profit and Loss

In the upper right corner, the wallet defaults to and supports the Ethereum mainnet. The asset overview can also display the profit and loss of a user's holdings over a period of time.

Exchange, Transfer, Purchase

The purchase function is integrated with digital payment service providers MoonPay and exchange Coinbase. Will the exchange be done through Coinbase, or will it be provided by specific DeFi protocols?

NFT

Microsoft does not focus much on NFTs. It mentions that users can browse different NFT markets and in the asset overview, it separately lists cryptocurrencies and NFTs, but does not display an interface for accessing Dapps.
