DeFi | Uniswap recruits former NYSE executive as advisor

Uniswap announced that Stacey Cunningham, the former president of the New York Stock Exchange, will join their advisory team. Despite a nearly 40% decrease in protocol revenue over the past 30 days, Uniswap still leads all DeFi protocols with $56.5 million in revenue.

Stacey Cunningham began her career as a floor trader at the New York Stock Exchange and later became the first female President of the NYSE. She joined the NYSE board in December last year and was named one of the BBC's 100 Women. She tweeted:

Excited to bring my years - over a decade?! - of exchange experience to the Uniswap team and founder Hayden Adams, furthering their mission to democratize finance.

Uniswap Labs stated that Stacey Cunningham saw in TradFi how to provide a more transparent, fair market for everyone and is now collaborating with the team to build a better system in DeFi.

Prior to this, Uniswap's front-end review and recruitment of former Federal Reserve economist Gordon Liao seemed to indicate the firm commitment of this top AMM platform to compliance. Hence, the crypto community was not entirely surprised by today's news.

Token Terminal data shows that Uniswap saw an 18.3% decrease in TVL and a 39.2% drop in revenue over the past 30 days, but its 30-day protocol revenue still led at $56.5 million. By comparison, OpenSea's 30-day revenue was $79.2 million.
