friend.tech Airdrop Anticipated to Become Crypto Community Hotspot
Although the current community points on friend.tech have no practical use yet, it is expected that these points will have a purpose after the official launch on 8/19. This has led the community, particularly those keen on airdrops, to heavily invest in social points. The use of friend.tech clones could impact point calculations, significantly affecting airdrop hunters.

friend.tech Faces Backlash, Founder Racer Apologizes
After implementing an anti-competitive policy, friend.tech has completely infuriated the Web3 community. The requirement to link social account data when registering on friend.tech was already criticized for privacy issues, and attempts to penalize users for migrating to other apps have sparked a wave of criticism.
Shortly after, founder Racer issued an apology and retracted the policy of canceling points:
"I'm sorry.
I have been operating out of fear. Fear of disappointing others. Fear that my best days are behind me. Fear that I am not the right person for this position.
When I told you not to use other products, that fear led me to act with a zero-sum mindset. It was a foolish statement. It's like telling my friends not to have fun and telling potential partners that I only see them as competitors.
This is completely contrary to the culture of interacting online with people in the cryptocurrency field every day, who always warmly accept and support me. I know I have disappointed many of you. Live as you wish. I am deeply sorry for the statements I made to you.
We are fortunate to do what we do. To do what we love for the people we love. I will not take it for granted."
